DENTAL HYGIENIST

Description:

Provides professional skilled preventive care to patients, in compliance with the Dental Practice act and the policies and procedures of the Alice Hyde Medical Center dental program

Part Time:
Monday-Friday, 16-24 Hours, 8am-4:30pm.

Per Diem:
Monday-Friday, Shift and hours will be determined by operational needs of the department.

Education/Experience:
Must be a graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program.  Minimum of one-year dental hygiene experience or equivalent experience as determined by the Director of Primary Care. NYS license required

 

 

LPN

Description:

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the planned nursing care of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including the administration of medications.  Practices within the guidelines of the New York State Nurse Practice Act.  Must demonstrate ability to identify patient age specific needs and importance of reporting to RN. Ability to maintain good public relations through diplomacy with patients, visitors, co-workers, others, direct patient contact when attending patient needs.  Scientific, technical ability for understanding medical problems and concepts.

Part Time:
7am-3:30pm Medical Surgical Unit
3pm-11:30pm Medical Surgical Unit

Education/Experience: 
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program.  Current registration or temporary permit to practice in New York State.  Demonstrate a satisfactory health record.

 

 

NURSE AID

Description:

Performs the functions of a Nurse Aide in carrying out all assignments given by Registered Nurse in a safe, appropriate and timely manner.  Accountable for all patient care given during the shift.  Adheres to all standards of A.H.M.C. nursing care requirements and promotes teamwork among co-workers.  Possesses ability to communicate with and provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Part Time:
3:00 to 11:30 p.m. Med/Surg Shift (16 Hours).   Shift and hours will be determined by operational needs of the department.

Education/Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent.   Previous Nurse Aide experience preferred.

 

 

PHYSICAL THERAPIST:

Description:

Organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs for patients to restore function, etc.; plans therapy programs for each patient; directs and aids in implementing therapy programs; evaluates, records and reports patients’ progress; assists in continual monitoring/assessing functions of Physical Therapy Department. Required to function on rotation system through inpatient, outpatient, Nursing Home, home health, rehab. patient areas and corrections (if necessary). Intermittently supervises physical therapy assistants, physical therapy aides, students, and volunteers.

Full Time:
Position is 40 hours per week; shift will be flexible. Hours may vary according to the needs of the department.

Education/Experience:
Graduate of accredited degree program in physical therapy; temporary
registration in NYS (if unlicensed); and subsequent successful procurement of NYS licensure. Experience in use of all modalities and physical therapy procedures (as outlined in Department Policy & Procedure Manual). Member of APTA preferred. 

 

 

POLYSOMNOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN-RN POSITION

Description:

PSG tech needed for work in Alice Hyde Medical Centers Sleep Lab.

Per Diem:
Hours and days may vary per operational needs of Sleep Lab. 

Education/Experience: 
Completion of a polysomnography/sleep studies program.  BLS required.  ACLS required or completed within 6 months of hire.  Sleep disorder knowledge, pulmonology and Bipap application/troubleshooting experience preferred.  Current NYS licensure as a RN.  Strong  communication skills required.
 

 

 

REGISTERED NURSE

Description:

Demonstrates nursing knowledge through the competent application of the nursing process.  Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development.  Advocates and practices age specific, patient focused care for all age groups.  Acts in accordance with the American Nurse’s Association code for Nurses and follows the philosophy of the Alice Hyde Nursing Department.  Applies critical care technical and “thinking” skills according to established policies and standards.

Part Time: 
Float:  11:00am-7pm- Shift and hours will be determined by operational needs of the department
ER:  6:00pm-2:30am, 20 hrs a week, Shift and hours will be determined by operational needs of the department
ICU:  11:00pm-7:00am 16hrs per week, Shift and hours will be determined by operational needs of the department

Education/Exeperience: 
Successful completion of an approved nursing program.  New York State nursing licensure, current registration, or temporary permit to practice in New York State.  Practices within the guidelines of the New York Nurse Practice Act.
