Workforce Development Program

Investing In Our People

GIVE TODAY

At Alice Hyde Medical Center, we are working to design workforce development initiatives that make it easier for current and prospective employees to move into jobs that are in high demand. Employees can make an upfront investment of time and, sometimes, tuition to transition to roles that better match their career and financial goals. Wherever we can, we are exploring strategies to reduce or eliminate the financial and logistical obstacles that can stand in the way of people finding jobs in health care.

With your help, we can prepare the workforce to meet the health care needs of our community today and into the future.

By making a gift to Alice Hyde, you help create meaningful and personalized learning opportunities for current employees and cultivate interest and growth in the next generation of medical professionals. When you support workforce development, you help make life-changing opportunities available for individuals that will benefit their families, our patients and our community.

Across the University of Vermont Health Network, there are innovative programs to train surgical technicians, phlebotomists, certified nursing aides and other medical professions facing critical shortages. Addressing these workforce gaps is especially challenging in rural regions like ours -- and that is why we need your help.

Alice Hyde-led efforts that have been ongoing for years, and support health care careers and workforce development in our community and at our hospital.

  • Donor-fueled auxiliary scholarships provide thousands of dollars each year to high school and college students pursuing careers in health care.
  • We are a New Visions program partner, a competitive, honors-level high school program providing students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in health care settings here at Alice Hyde.
  • At the Alice Center, Alice Hyde’s long-term care facility, we host a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training Program that offers students full-time employment during and after the completion of their training.

These are just a few of the local initiatives aimed at addressing a critical shortage of health care professionals. Your support can help us continue to provide growth and development opportunities for employees to advance their careers, and reach into our community and train people for open positions.
