Visitation Changes & Updates

Visitors/Welcome Policy Change
In response to COVID-19, the NYS Department of Health is recommending all hospitals restrict visitation at this time. As of Friday, March 20, Alice Hyde will no longer allow patient visitation. We understand the impact this may have on our patients and loved ones. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time as we work to protect our patients and people.

Until further notice, no visitors will be allowed, with limited exceptions for individuals such as pediatric patients, which will be allowed a single visitor. Any visitors meeting these exceptions must be screened for symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, or fever) or potential exposure to someone with COVID-19.

The Alice Center
For the safety of residents, patients and staff members, The Alice Center at UVM Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center is temporarily restricting all non-medical visitation at the facility, amid concerns over coronavirus and respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19.

Effective immediately no non-medical visitors will be allowed at The Alice Center until further notice, said Susan Biondolillo, Associate Vice President of Long Term Care. She said the decision, which follows guidance from the New York State Department of Health, was made for the safety of residents, patients and staff and in consultation with clinical leaders and administrators across UVM Health Network.

Alice Hyde Launches COVID-19 Call Center - NEW
Alice Hyde Medical Center has launched a COVID-19 call center, to help keep people in our community informed about the disease and give them the resources they need to make good decisions about their own health and wellness during this pandemic. The call center is available Monday – Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling (518) 481-2700. Click here to learn more.

Cancellation of All Non-Essential Surgeries and Procedures - NEW
In keeping with recommendations from the American College of Surgeons, the Surgeon General and other medical societies, we have cancelled all non-essential surgeries and procedures, effective Wednesday, March 18. While this is truly a difficult decision, it is the right thing to do for our patients and our people during this public health crisis.

Business Office and Medical Records - NEW
As part of our visitor restrictions amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Alice Hyde will be suspending Business Office and Medical Records Office traffic effective
Friday, March 20.

Student and Volunteer programs -  Volunteer and Student programs have been suspended until further notice.

Dining Center and Park Street Cafe - The Dining Center is only open to employees. The Park Street Cafe is closed.
