Visitation Changes & Updates

Visitors/Welcome Policy Change
In response to COVID-19, the NYS Department of Health is recommending all hospitals restrict visitation at this time. As of Friday, March 20, Alice Hyde will no longer allow patient visitation. We understand the impact this may have on our patients and loved ones. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time as we work to protect our patients and people.

Until further notice, no visitors will be allowed, with limited exceptions for individuals such as pediatric patients, which will be allowed a single visitor. Any visitors meeting these exceptions must be screened for symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, or fever) or potential exposure to someone with COVID-19.

The Alice Center
For the safety of residents, patients and staff members, The Alice Center at UVM Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center is temporarily restricting all non-medical visitation at the facility, amid concerns over coronavirus and respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19.

Effective immediately no non-medical visitors will be allowed at The Alice Center until further notice, said Susan Biondolillo, Associate Vice President of Long Term Care. She said the decision, which follows guidance from the New York State Department of Health, was made for the safety of residents, patients and staff and in consultation with clinical leaders and administrators across UVM Health Network.

Alice Hyde Radiology, Laboratory Services Departments will see patients by appointment only
Radiology and Laboratory Services at Alice Hyde will see patients by appointment and no longer accept walk-in visits, as part of the hospital’s phased re-opening plan. Click here to learn more.

Alice Hyde Expands Curbside Telehealth Program
Alice Hyde’s Curbside Telehealth program is now available at Tower Health Center in St. Regis Falls, Bessette Health Center in Chateaugay, Dwyer Health Center in Moira, and at the hospital’s Endocrinology practice, 20 Fourth Street, Malone. Click here to learn more.

Alice Hyde Offers Curbside Telehealth Visits
Alice Hyde has expanded its Telehealth program with a Curbside Telehealth initiative focused on ensuring those without internet access or telehealth technology can still connect with their health care provider. Curbside Telehealth is based at the hospital’s 183 Park Street Primary Care building, the program provides scheduled curbside telehealth visits for patients who can’t use telehealth technology at home for a variety of reasons.  Click here to learn more.

Alice Hyde Erects Triage Tent, Moves Mandatory Screenings Outside

As part of Alice Hyde’s preparedness work around the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital is instituting an outdoor screening and check-in station for everyone entering the hospital. Click here to learn more.

Alice Hyde Launches COVID-19 Call Center
Alice Hyde Medical Center has launched a COVID-19 call center, to help keep people in our community informed about the disease and give them the resources they need to make good decisions about their own health and wellness during this pandemic. The call center is available Monday – Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling (518) 481-2700. Click here to learn more.

As part of our visitor restrictions amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Alice Hyde will be suspending Business Office and Medical Records Office traffic effective
Friday, March 20.
