Alice Hyde to Host Virtual Auction April 30 - May 2

A Betsy Johnson large floral weekender tote, one ton of wood pellets for heating, a “Golfing A-Round” package and more will be up for grabs later this month during an online auction that will benefit a special project at UVM Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center’s long-term-care facility, The Alice Center.

The event, the second online auction the hospital has hosted since the COVID-19 pandemic began, continues to draw support from local businesses such as the Kinney Drugs Foundation, H&R Block, MJ Leroux Oil and Adirondack Paint & Hardware, said Chantelle Marshall, Alice Hyde’s Director of Philanthropy. Marshall said proceeds from the event will fund the construction of a walkable, outdoor path at The Alice Center, as well as work paving the emergency roadways that wraps around the facility. The total cost of the project is estimated at $125,000.

“Making sure our residents have that space to exercise, enjoy the outdoors and share precious moments of connection with friends, family and pets is a great way to continue to add value and versatility to The Alice Center,” she said. “We also want to do everything we can do ensure our Facilities Department has easy access to perform maintenance, keep The Alice Center’s outdoor spaces ready for residents to enjoy and preserve this state-of-the-art resource for our community.”

The auction will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 30 and bidding will close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. Interested bidders can sign up and can learn more about the auction and the items that will be up for bid by visiting the Online Auction page on Alice Hyde’s website.
