State-Sponsored COVID-19 Testing Program Ends Today
UVM Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center’s Drive-Thru COVID-19 Test Site on Park Street will no longer offer state-sponsored COVID-19 testing beginning Saturday, July 17, as New York State ends its state-sponsored COVID-19 testing program.
Beginning Saturday, July 17, anyone seeking COVID-19 testing at Alice Hyde’s Drive-Thru Test Site, located at 130 Park Street, behind Alice Hyde’s Occupational Health offices, must have an order from their health care provider. Patients should also be aware that their insurance will be billed and they may be responsible for a co-pay, so it is important to bring their insurance card when they arrive for testing. Test results are received through the office of each patients’ primary care provider.
Free, state-sponsored COVID-19 testing had been available as part of New York State’s pandemic-related emergency orders, which were first declared on March 7, 2020 and expired last month, on June 24.
Alice Hyde’s Drive-Thru Test Site will continue performing provider-order testing, as well as testing for pre-procedure and surgical patients, and operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week.
