Dr. Shamosh provides primary care to adults across the northern Adirondack region through his role as an internal medicine physician at Alice Hyde Medical Center Primary Care in Malone, NY. He enjoys practicing internal medicine as it allows him to treat patients across a spectrum of health conditions and provide preventative care. Dr. Shamosh places a great emphasis in taking time with each one of his patients to listen to their concerns and conduct a thorough physical examination. He believes that this focus helps him to diagnose and treat his patients without the need for extraneous imaging and laboratory test.
He comes to the practice with over 25 years of experience as a physician, both as an internist and previously as a specialist in Critical Care. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Shamosh’s first career was as a physicist in New York City where he taught courses in physics, biochemistry and physiology to medical students. Dr. Shamosh is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians where he sits on the Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the state of New York. He has made significant contributions to the field of medicine through his work as an early advocator for the use of Naloxone and more recently with his work integrating behavioral health and psychiatry into primary care.
